Some good points about why our market is different

Hoeltke's celebrate a themed night at the Artisan Foodworks Market.

What is the Artisan Foodworks Market?:

The mission of the Artisan Foodworks Market is threefold:
1. to increase access to local, fresh, nutritious food, and information about improved living;
2. to provide a venue for independent vendors including farmers, artists, and specialty/artisan vendors to connect with customers;
3. and to create a welcoming space for groups striving to improve our well-being, our community, the environment, and the local economy to share their message.

A curated weekly farmers-style market with a focus on local artisans and food producers. Food, produce, art, jewelry, community groups, and healthy living booths are encouraged to apply to vend. Weekly themes create excitement and fun, inviting a unique experience with rotating vendors.

Why we started the Artisan Foodworks Market and continue to operate it:

When we first started applying to farmers' markets with our 240sweet Artisan Marshmallows, several markets turned us down. We were heartbroken. We knew that we had a unique, fun food product that customers would love. Sadly, some market masters and committees were stuck in the paradigm that farmers' market should only have organic foods that customers would take home to cook. Once we started to be recognized by national media and inducted into Indiana Artisan, things finally started to change and we were allowed to participate in markets, where we proved to be a big hit. The seed had already been planted for us to start a market which welcomed diverse vendors who would appeal to more customers.

We believe that farmers' markets should be fun, welcoming places with a variety of booths and vendors who appeal to both newcomers and die-hards. So the Artisan Foodworks Market incorporates a variety of vendors, from traditional concessions to organic produce. We have contests, giveaways, photo ops, and deliciousness. We create an experience that allows people to celebrate independent businesses.

We also think that farmers' markets should have different vendors each week who rotate spaces. Think about it...When you go to the grocery store, don't the end-caps change each week to get you to notice something new? We encourage participants to come for one themed week that appeals to you. If you want to come for more, that's fine.
